Looking for a new church can be at times an intimidating experience. As you are seeking and searching for information and insights, we hope the Mt. Olive Baptist Church web site will be a great help for you.
Thank you for inquiring about Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Please read the following 'Guest Information' carefully. God bless each of you as you seek God's desire for a Church Home.
1. Should I Be Hesitant To Visit A New Church?
We totally understand and respect those feelings. MOBC is a loving church full of wonderful people who love God and need God's love just like you do! Our church will take every opportunity to make sure you are informed, comfortable, and that your first visit will be pleasant. Please do not be hesitant to visit, fellowship, and worship the Lord Jesus at Mt.Olive!
2. What Are Your Worship Services Like?
We love to worship the Lord with all our hearts. The music from our Worship Team will offer a blend of hymns and praise & worship. The worship spirit will be live, exciting, and worshipful. We believe (and pray) you will feel the Spirit of God in our worship services.
The sermon messages will be taught from God's Holy, perfect Word. And Mt. Olive Baptist Church does not believe in preaching & teaching from anything but the Word of God...and we make no apology about that. Our pastor's sermons will be helpful, scriptural, and relevant to your life today.
The people of Mt. Olive will be warm, friendly, non-judgmental, and extremely welcoming.
3. How Should I Dress?
Please dress comfortably. But please dress modestly and tastefully to honor our Lord. Jeans, t-shirts, polos, slacks, suits, and dresses are all acceptable. As God's Word teaches us..."Man looks at the outward appearance...but God looks at the heart."
4. When Are Your Worship Services?
Our Sunday A.M. worship service begins at 9:20 a.m. We love the atmosphere of giving our worship to God as an offering FIRST! Sunday school small groups follow at 10:40 a.m.
Sunday evening worship is at 6:00 p.m. and Wednesday night activities begin at 5:30 p.m. with a light supper.
We suggest that you arrive 15-20 minutes early. Parking is plentiful, with special guest parking close to the sanctuary.
5. Will I Have to Do Anything in Your Worship Services?
Yes! You will be asked to relax, worship, and allow the Spirit of God to bless your heart and life. You will not be asked to stand up and speak or do anything that might make you uncomfortable or embarrass you.
6. Do You Provide Childcare?
We do have a nursery for ages newborn through three yrs. old. Our nursery is clean, fresh, and full of love. Our nursery is provided for all services and has a staff of workers that are excited and willing to minister to and love you and your children.
7. How Does Mt. Olive Handle Money?
Our entire budget is provided by the commitment of our members. Every dollar comes from their lives and pockets. Mt. Olive believes and teaches the truth of tithing of 10% to God and His church...and we make no apology about that. First time guests are not expected or required to give financially, unless the Holy Spirit leads them to.
All monies and budgeting are handled in an open, honest, and transparent way. There are no financial secrets at Mt. Olive.
